PGA is known to be a superior humectant studies have shown it can hold up to 5,000 times its weight in water, surpassing hyaluronic acid in moisture retention. It forms a breathable film on the skin's surface, reducing transepidermal water loss (TEWL) and improving skin elasticity and smoothness.
